Specifically, participants will learn to identify the common challenges under-represented faculty face in the Academy at all stages; identify the three mistakes under-represented faculty make; provide specific strategies for increasing productivity, serving strategically, teaching efficiently, and building strong and healthy professional relationships; and identify why and how to connect with communities of support and accountability. The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Anthony Ocampo, a faculty member in the Department of Psychology and Sociology at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Public Policy at University of California, Riverside. His research and teaching focuses on immigration, race and ethnicity, and gender and sexuality. See flyer.
