Dr. Noble Maseru, Professor, Public Health Practice and Director, Social Justice Equity and Faculty Engagement to serve on panel at the Human Rights Cities Leadership Summit

The Human Rights Cities Alliance, in partnership with the Southern Poverty Law Center, Southern Center for Human Rights, and the Organization for Human Rights and Democracy, among others, will host the Human Rights Cities Leadership Summit from May 18-21, 2023 at Georgia State University College of Law. The meeting explores ways to “bring human rights home” by supporting innovative policy making and advancing leadership ready to confront today’s most urgent challenges, from structural racism to climate change. 

Dr. Noble Maseru, Professor, Public Health Practice and Director, Social Justice Equity and Faculty Engagement is part of a large delegation the Human Rights City Alliance is sending to the Summit from Pittsburgh. The delegation hopes to bring back ideas and lessons for ongoing health equity work in Pittsburgh. Dr. Maseru has also been asked to serve on the panel of one of the breakout sessions, “Building Intersectional Coalitions for Health in our Cities”. As a panelist, he will have the opportunity to discuss the ways in which Pittsburgh is optimizing health equity outcomes.

The sessions will be livestreamed and placed on the Human Rights Cities Alliance website after the summit.
