The Office of Health Sciences Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is awarded the the University of Pittsburgh Prize for Strategic, Inclusive, & Diverse Excellence

The Office of Health Sciences Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is pleased to announce that they are the co-recipient along with the Office of Faculty Diversity and Development of the University of Pittsburgh Prize for Strategic, Inclusive, & Diverse Excellence (UPSIDE).

This award was given in recognition of the Race & ... initiative. Race & ... is an intensive, multi-disciplinary effort to increase participation, education, research, and outreach to, and by, minorities, women, and other under-represented groups. The work has included strong progress in recruitment and retention of Black, Hispanic, and Latinx faculty and staff; as well as the organization of the ongoing “Race & ...” Lecture Series; the “Race & ...” Research Collaboratories; the annual Race@Work summer retreat; and the “Race & ...” Conference.

Consistent with the University’s strategic plan, UPSIDE is presented to an outstanding University of Pittsburgh school, division, initiative, or program area making a significant contribution to increasing diversity and inclusion. UPSIDE acknowledges Race & ... as a program that seeks to increase access to and full participation in all aspects of the University by minorities, women and other protected classes under the law.
